Michael Dauer is an international choreographer | educator based in NYC. He has served as an assistant Emmy Award-Winning & Tony Award-Nominated choreographer Joshua Bergasse (Smash, On the Town), has danced for Emmy Award-Winning choreographer Tyce Diorio (SYTYCD) and was the Dance Captain for the National Tour of the hit Broadway Musical CHICAGO. As a choreographer, Michael’s work has been seen on stage at Westchester Broadway Theatre (Man of La Mancha), Teatro Peruano Japonés in Lima, Perú (Mamma Mia), as well as Steps on Broadway.

Michael’s class begins with a 40-minute warm-up focusing on technique and strengthening. The remainder of the class will be spent on developing character through movement. The movement will emphasize rhythm through elements of classic jazz and contemporary styles. The goal is to help dancers find their unique personal motivation which will inform their movement. Michael creates a positive and supportive environment where students will feel safe to explore creatively, ask questions, and learn.
